We had an early start today to check in at Schiphol for our
10:00 flight but once done, we could relax in their very large Crown
Lounge. It was a nice area but the food
was somewhat disappointing compared to others we’ve been in; just cereals, cold
meats, jam and croissants. I did ask if
there was a hot buffet and apparently there was – boiled eggs and
pancakes! Still that's what the Dutch generally eat for breakfast so guess I shouldn't have expected more.
Time passed quickly enough
though and we were soon boarding.
Unfortunately we then had about an hour’s delay as security was very
busy and transit passengers were delayed joining us.
Great seats, very comfortable and for once actually long
enough for Ian to lie flat. We were
greeted by name and shortly after take-off visited by the Senior Purser as he’d
been made aware of the issues I raised.
He was a delightful chap and totally understood my point, he said it’s
often the case were matters are not correctly dealt with by his Customer
Services team and as the “face in the air” he then has to sort it. Actually the food was absolutely delicious
and the only thing I didn’t eat was a starter so absolutely no complaints
whatsoever. However I will pursue my
original complaint about their website when I get home but for now time to move
on.
